Ramsholt Arms reportedly to re-open

Apparently hoping to be open for the second week in June. Much rewiring and decorating ongoing at present. The exterior is now a shade of limewash green.

Supposedly reopening June 5th.
Much work ongoing all weekend.
But still folks rowing ashore to the pub and professing surprise it is closed.
Do they not all read this august forum?

Feed on FaceBook states opening Friday following delays and problems in the kitchen, not taking bookings but inviting people to join them. They'll probably answer on there if anyone asks for specifics, but I doubt they would be daft enough to announce an opening this late in the week then fail to come through

Best a pub not take bookings, more to be made by folk walking about with knives n forks breathing down folks necks for a table they thought they had reserved for the night

There is a good chance i might 'join them'. I take the implication that it will all be free and all they require is the pleasure of my company. Some beluga caviare and a little foie gras washed down with something rare and fine i fancy. I will report back if we get there.

Please do, from the pic's they've published it's all looking to be a lot nicer than the last time I was there. The only benefit of it being closed for a time means they shouldn't be able to upset any regulars by changing things too fast, so it looks like they've gone for everything in one hit. Bit of a gamble but if they get it right, it should prove to be the right choice. Food and drink were both pretty dire last time I was there, but others weren't objecting so I kept quiet (a bit) so the newly cleaned pipes and refurbished kitchen should see things dramatically improved. Don't expect much in the way of free stuff though ;)

According to George (Ramsholt Harbour Master) the pub opened on Wednesday and there where about 100 people there pub last night.

I sailed in at lunchtime today.
No time to eat as tide and time waits etc...

Adnams beer was good.
One pint, one still water, two packets of crisps - £7.40

Food looked good, but pricey - (probably worth it but cant say till I've eaten some!)
Menu very gastro rather than 'pub grub'.
The decor looked a bit bland and soulless (modern?) to my taste, but then I'm an Old Geezer.
Certainly looked cleaner and tidier than my last visit anyway.

Will certainly go again and try the interesting menu.

There today - gastro pub on a budget. Food is £11.50 for fish and ships, if its fantastic then it's worth it, but it would have to be fantastic. £5 for a decent Adnams and a coke. Hope it all works, cheap boil in the bag can't work there so I hope gastro pub does. If you can't make a quality food pub work in that location then you're not doing it right, there's almost no nicer spot.

No food served until 6.30pm so with little ones we were back to the boat for pasta and dog's foot.
