Raising toilet height

Any ideas on raising the height of a jabsco head? It needs to come up about 6" there doesnt seem to be any standard parts available and I cant think of anything other than making up a grp base.

i used to use risers for special needs toilets made of grp. might have one in the storeroom i'll have a look tomorrow

It's the height of the anti-syphon valve above the water that matters, and that's not changing.

Thanks for replies. Dont know about the size of my a***e but I do have long legs!
The toilet sits flat on the floor and not on a raised step so looks like something out of a nursery school. The raisers for disabled toilets look as though they would do, so Ratbag if you have one let me know.

had a look today , no joy i'm sure i have a couple but they're burried at the back, i have a contact who might still stock them i'll let you know , i recon it's what your looking for.

It brings to mind (as a shorta**e) that many steps are too high and leave us vertically challenged (normal) beings with no blood flow to the legs. If you're setting it up for over six foot in stature you might consider a fold up footstep for those who would otherwise be left hanging!

I too am tall and found the seat was way too low so I used a stainless steel dogs/ kitchen bowl upside down , drilled holes in it to align with the bowl fixings with extended s/s bolts re fitted it and it is now just right . looks right as well being s/steel

Dogs bowl sounds good but not sure if it would give support to the pump extension at the side, unless anyone knows a really big dog!

That is the problem. You need the full support so there is no alternative but to build a higher platform to mount the loo on. They are usually low because of the lack of headroom in many loo compartments, but if there is no headroom constraint no reason why you cannot have a higher platform.

How about building one in wood, fill and fair with epoxy and paint it with two pack white paint. The two pack paint is very robust and with a bit of effort you can end up with something that is just the right size and looks like GRP. (Rout the edges with a round over router bit to make it less 'boxy'?)

Did this on our boat 3 years ago. Fed up with squatting and knees under your chin!

Still looks pretty good. Just built it up with layers of 38mm wood until happy enough with height. Much more comfortable.

5 or 6 oblongs of 18mm Marine ply bolted/glued/screwed together. Run a router round the top edge. Sand paint white or even gelcoat and job done?
