Anyone know what the origin of these two terms is?
Sounds a bit minor public school to me - Cardew Robinson and Billy Bunter. "I say, the chap's a stinkie/raggie. What an absolute bounder"
Couldn't possibly be the merchant navy could it?

In the merchant navy they don't call us "Raggies" - they call us WAFIs. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif. For those that can't work it out, that stands for Wind Assisted F***ing Idiots/forums/images/icons/blush.gif

Sail - 'Rag and sticks' = Raggies
Motor - 'Stinkpots' = Stinkies

the terms have just become abbreviated on the forums
