What's the best way of getting it up the mast safely.

Managed to get the old one down somehow without breaking it.....

Anyone got any bright ideas to make it easy to fit. The new one is bigger and heavier /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

TIA

Hi, I used a ladder that just reached the spreaders and used a halyard to hoist the scanner and hold it a the correct height while fitting it. I did the whole job single-handed.

Put a pole on the stern with a brace and attached to the pushpit and put it on that along with anything else you need out of the way. Put the wire inside the pole all the way down into and through the deck along with other wires and you never need b*** around at beginning and end of season again

Make your own for £100ish or buy a scanstrut for £400ish but you can make a better one yourself.
