I launched my Anderson 22 this week, mast up, so I can now wire in the cable from a newly installed JRC radar scanner etc. Running it through the hatch, all is fine & works OK. But the problem is how to take the cable permantly through the deck. I assumed undo the plug, get an Index cable gland device to go through the hull etc. But the plug doesn't seem to want to come off easily. The man at Mailspeed in Burnham said no, leave the plug on, take through deck, and hide the extra 10m or so of cable that is spare. This means drilling a 30mm or so hole through the deck and trying to lose 10m of thick radar cable in a very small area.
Does the plug come off, and (even more important) how easy is it to re-attach?
