Racor diesel filter element needs changing.

Do I get the 2, 10 or 30 micron element? It's a 200hp Nanni turbocharged diesel.

30 micron rock stopper there should be a fine filter on the engine.

Assuming it's a 500 size then with a 200 HP engine 30 micron. Anything smaller will likely clog too quickly.

I use the 30 micron on my 4.390tdi nanni 200hp and have had no problem at all. ( I think i will touch wood now)

Nanni accessories catalogue states 30 micron (Filter 245R30).

When I got my boat with two Nanni 4.380 and separate fuel supplies, each had a Racor Fuel Filter Element R25S (2 Mic) followed by the original Nanni engine fuel filter, and I have had no issues at all.

Recently sourced two of same type from www.dieselpartsdirect.co.uk in preparation for for next season (£21.50 each).
I'm sure they'll be able to supply other microns as well if you prefer (not connected etc. etc.)

If you have a fuel problem at sea about all you can do is change the pre filter element for new and drain the bowl.

Make sure you carry say four spare filter elements in case of a problem.

Check the bowl on the pre filter regularly and lift and inspect the condition of the element if you can ( with a Racor you cant but a sealed cartridge you cant).

If your using 2 micron in your pre filters then your engine filters will probably last forever if your tanks are nice & clean that's fine.As stated they are more likely to clog up if you do have a problem at any time

My filters were fitted in the UK. Don't know if or how clean fuel supplies are at the Hamble where the boat used to be, but over here we experience no issues whatsoever in that regard.
