Quicksilver 855WE rainwater leak

Last winter you will see I had water in the fwd bilge and I ended up trying all sorts of things. It turned out that I had inadvertently drained the fresh water tank into the grey water tank. When I ran the heads sink it then drained into the shower sump which overflowed into the fwd bilge. That sorted one problem. I then found the aft cockpit deck drain channels were blocked and where they go into the drains just aft of the rear seat the plastic deck fitting below the deck which is a right angle fitting the jubilee clips that fasten the hose to the fitting were loose and leaked. Once cleaned and tightened this stopped that leak.
Most of my drains were blocked too. I’m going to stay on top of those from now on

I’ve got 2 tube heaters fitted in the engine bay. They seem to be wired into a socket that’s powered off the water heater ac circuit. Question is is I drain the water system down and leave the water heater on in order to power the tube heaters will I damage the water heater.
all I’ve done so far is run all the taps dry I’ve not fully winterised as I plan to use the boat and have a dehumidifier and frost heater in the cabin

I have just wired in a double socket in the engine and avoided wiring into the water heater as I was concerned about running the water heater with no water just to power the extended socket. Plus added electricity cost. I wired into the back of the mains fuse panel under the helmsman seat. I wired into the fuse marked 240v sockets which seemed the best option for me.

Yep. I wish mine was wired that way. I’m currently away from the boat and cold weather is inbound and I’ve left the engine bay with no heat. Fingers crossed it won’t freeze. I think when I get back over the weekend I’ll place some water in the system and run it through the hot water pipes only then switch the circuit on. At least the engine bay will be warm and the water tank should be fine along with the hot water tank

Another leak!!!!!
Boats back in the water after 3 months ashore for a service. Got a small leak that’s sitting at the rear of the wheel horse by the sliding door. I thought it might be the fridge as it’s been on and off as I turn the battery on when visiting and so there a little condensation. But maybe not as it’s been off for a week or so and the inside of the fridge is now dry but still the small puddly on the galley floor just by the fridge.

One other thing. Is anyone also suffering from galvanic corrosion. After 6 months in the water all the engine based anodes were quite corroded and needed replacing. Mercator working fine and there doesn’t appear to be any current leak. How would I mow if my galvanic isolator is working?

Thanks again for all the advice you lot give, Gota love boats !

Back on leaks. My QS905WE is leaking from the front starboard side sliding roof. Not investigated yet but in the early days i had quite a bit of water in the roof between the double layer whick leaked out by the removable upper side panels in the roof. This had gone away after checking roof fittings and sealing ie aerial gland etc. Does anybody else have a roof leaking issue?

Hello, I´m new to this thread. I´m from Denmark and just bought a 905WE 2021. I´ve noticed that quite some rainwater are leaking in at very aft upper corners in the engine compartment. I suspect its related to the end of the drain lines of the cockpit. I have attached a picture taken when standing in front of the transom door looking down at the end of the cockpit floor drain line, just before stepping out on the STB swimplatform. If I spray water from a hose in the blue areathe water will flush out nicely from the drainplug just above the swimplatform - no leaking. But if I spray water in the yellow area it leaks inside the engine compartment (in this area a lot of rain water will end from the aft of the canopy when its raining) It looks like some sealing has been done in that area, but more random...

Any experience or advice on the issue is highly appreciated?

Considerations:
Should I just seal up the area more trying to "canal" water from the yellow area into the blue?
Also I find it strange that theres a "hole" with no sealing on top of the bumper at the end of the drain line, but below the bumper it is sealed all the way.. this creates a hole where water gets trapped. Maybe this water is running backwards? Is it a mistake that there should actually be no sealing underneath the bumper right here, potentially allowing water to drain?

Best, Michael

Look at my previous post on this further back in the comments. The rear starboard drain that has a 90 degree bend in the fitting needed reselling and the jubilees clips tightened, this fixed the issue.

Thanks for your answer. But it dont appear to have such a 90 degree fitting on mine. When I look into the drain from outside it appears straight and goes into a "cone shaped" funnel where water from the cockpit drain lines ends. Please see picture from inside the STB side upper corner.. There is a big load of fiberglas/epoxy smeared over the end of the cone.. the water runs down from there

I no longer have my boat. But if you open the hatch that gives access to the rear of the engine and the fitting I'm talking about is underneath on the starboard side with a drain hole I believe on the top outside and underneath a L shaped plastic fitting with 2 x jubilee clips fastening hoses on to it. Sorry I don't have photos. By the way the same fitting is on the port side and I had to tighten that up as well.

I see. Thanks so much for your effort trying to exolain.. Mine dont have such fitting. It looks different since its an OB layout I guess.

Wanted to share an update. I sealed the ends of the water drains in both sides (yellow area of above picture). This leads the water only to the blue area of the drain. Its dry now... I got another smaller leak, im about to trace, where water ends behind the power steering unit (stb side, front of engine compartment, just below the gas enclosure for the hub)
