Jazzcat has a Quick windlass from 1984 which hasn't been used for 10 years. I'm not sure of the model, but it's a 1000W job. It looks similar to the Quick Rider, but isn't quite the same
I can't test it because of other electrical issues, but I tried to wind it in with the winch handle hole. It wouldn't shift turning clockwise, but turning anticlockwise unscrewed the clutch to allow the gypsy to turn freely on the spindle. Is this correct, or an indication that something's seized?
Second question: If it's OK, or I can free it up, I plan to slather the spindle and clutches with waterproof grease and clean the contacts. Is there anything else I should do?
