River was deserted apart from me and a local trawler.

All the local yachts are ashore for the winter.

Always wondered why you would buy a boat and promptly bung it ashore for much of the year.
Run out was to warm the engines for the annual oil and filter change.
Had a (very) quick whizz ........22 knots against tide at 3800. RPM.
A bit better than the struggle to get 12 knots last year with a bum covered in weed/corals/barycules.
