Setting off Sat for a week on the boat, want to end up st Malo. Not done much down that particular coast so advice needed.
Question is, which ports to visit between Cherbourg & St Malo & why?
Whats the access like?
Tidal?
You know the score.

You ask for quick advice at 12.15, why didnt you just phone me?

Dielette is first port past Cherbourg which has tidal access at all states of tide for me but you had better not go in an hou at least each side of LW as you are bound to bash your props, dont cut the corners by each end of the break water go thru the middle. Nice little tow nearby Les Pieux but not a lot to do in that area but eat and drink. Great if you want P&Q tho.

Carteret is next stop much more lively but is full of crapeauds (jersey people) at the weekend and if its busy you will be rafted up. If it is busy then ask the capitanerie for your own berth, if its available he will give it to you. That is not common knowledge btw so dont tell any one else in there at the time what you did.

After that its really all the way to G-g-g-g-g-g Granville. Bit like brighton marina all stone and make sure you get put in a berth where you and the boat next door fill the gap otherwise someone will shoehorn themselves into the gap in the middle of the night.

Prob best to got to Binic, St Quay and Paimpol much more to do much better ports. If you need to know more call me tomorrow, you have my number.

I thort you were coming here? the guya t Sawatdi is missing you.

Don't worry! I will be there, either on the way down, or on the way back.
Beer? I'll ring you anyway. Cheers Dom.

If weather OK for crossing, consider 1st stop St Helier (last cheap fuel) then St Malo.

My view that Brittany ports much more interesting than those French ports between Cherbourg and St Malo. Don't forget the River Rance (entry at St Malo). Very beautiful and Dinan one of the nicest Brittany towns in the area.

Pop in to St Peter Port on the return leg.

And of course don't forget the C.I. You could do Alderney or Sark for lunch on way to last sensible fuel stop in that place we don't mention that starts with J.

Do you still have to jerrycan fuel down the wall in Bray?

Had a chat with Dom this morning, he is going to scare the pants off me again with one of his "day trips". He thinks the barrier de rance (st Malo) is closed. Anyone confirm this?
