Queens Jubilee flypast, Windsor, May 19th 2012

WOW fantastic! SWMBO is doing lunch with friends in Windsor tomorrow and they were unable to organise the Castle visit being told simply 'its closed'. Now we know....brilliant

The flypast is going to be interesting as it is surely directly in the approach to Heathrow (09R and 09L) and the aircraft are quite low by then.

How are they sorting that? They have been on Easterlies the last few days putting the approaching aircraft on 09L, making Datchet airspace a bit busy.

All land from the East/over London on one runway then take-offs on the other going East?

OR

Divert 'em all to Biggin Hill or Kent International just for a laugh?

Well spotted!

Pop over and say hello by all means, or you might see us walking two small dogs over on the meadow in the morning...

Great post by the way, I would have missed this otherwise! Thanks chaps.

Is it me -

OR did this fantastic event not get much publicity?

If I'd know I would have dumped my concert and come down with you Bray-ites.

I'm watching it on t'telly as I write and the precision / organization / logistics are amazing.

Have a great day

I hope those of you down at Windsor today have a great view of the flypast.

Unfortunately I'm working so can't make it. Just had a glimpse though, as the Typhoon squadron has just passed over my house, around 20 miles NW of Windsor.

Sad to be missing the BBMF and their 6 combined merlins! At least in my job I do get to see them combined or individually plus the reds through the season.

have a good 'un!

Mike
