How close inshore will sailors be expected to stay, to eliminate being considered to have gone 'foreign' & expected to stay 14 days in quarantine?;)

British territorial waters are about 12 miles offshore. However, if the law is to be interpreted by anyone not connected with sailing or by the media, then going for a paddle with rolled up trouser legs is probably enough.

I've met a few that do, and a few that don't, but one of these on the spreader may help make the welcome warmer

Being polite and friendly generally helps, too.

Just remember to take down your French courtesy flag and put up a Cornish one as soon as you see the Isle of Wight

Are you sure the good burghers of Yarmouth wouldn't stick up a sign at the harbour entrance telling 'em to go back home?
