Quantum Radar?

I have mark 1 Quantum radar interfaced to a Raymarine system, a e128 MFD, using WiFi.
I'm thinking about updating it to the latest version.
I can see two versions advertised,
Raymarine Quantum 2 Q24C
And
Raymarine Quantum 2 Q24D
The D version is presumably the most recent.
And the C version is cheaper.
Does anyone know the difference between the 2 versions?
And
If the is yet another version im the pipeline?

Just out of interest - why?
We have the exact same system that you have currently and seems to work very well.

The Q24C isn't Quantum 2. The Q24D is Quantum 2 and the D stands for Doppler, which the main difference,

Thanks Paul for the clarification. The distinction wasn't clear in the advertisements.

I installed the quantum radar in 2016, shortly after it was introduced. I had 2 electronic faults, which were repaired under guarantee.
I always felt that it wasn't as good as the first Raymarine radar I had, which was bought in 2007. That, if I remember correctly, was magnetron based, but had digital communications between the scanner and MFD. That one would easily detect large plastic buoys at a reasonable range 1/2 a mile or more on a calm night.
My current Quantum didn't detect a yacht in thick fog until after I saw it (about 100m). Both boats were were creeping down the shore line of the sound of Mull in the same direction (fortunately). The boat in question didn't have active AIS, radar or a radar reflector.
I could see other traffic in the area.
I find that the quantum will generally pick-up yachts at a range of 1nm or less where as on the old radar, I'd start seeing them at 1.5 to 2nm.
I often run the radar in fine weather to practice and get a feel for the MARPA. I find that it doesn't track targets close to the shore very well. It soon confuses the target with the shoreline, even though the target can clearly seen, distinct from the shoreline, by eye on he display.
I'm hoping that the mark 2 will be an improvement on the early mark I have.

Interesting

Some useful features - but didn’t spot anything that suggested it would be any better at actually detecting the OP’s example of the yacht without radar reflector?

Perhaps the issue is that modern yachts are not so well built as older boats hence less visible on radar ? (I’ll get my coat)
