Re: RE that was then! AGAIN

Firstspirit,

That's a Big Ten Four Buddy! still got it, but cell phones have taken all the fun out of it.

Where is this marina? South coast? Solent area? At the end of a line of 5 perches, starboard side to?

We had a similar thing occur when the lock gates were left open to relieve excess water and someone forgot to close them. Were all on pontoons, but a couple of boats heeled and their gunwhales(gunnels) jammed under the pontoons and they stayed under as the water flooded.

I woud be very annoyed not to be informed of serious loss of depth to the extent we would 'fall over'. I assume you did inform them of the draught of the vessel and that they accordingly directed you to a 'safe' place to anchor/moore?

I can't see there was any real danger, apart from being hit on the head by flying objects, bottles of grog falling off shelves etc.. Yes very inconvenient and cold and wet, but not life threatening.

If damage was done then sue the Marina for personal injury and for repairs.

Where exactly was this, I don't want to end up there?

I look forward to the reply, but am out of the country 'till the 30th.

Thanks Stamfordian for your posting,

Are these people MARINE LAWYERS? PUBLIC RELATIONS CONSULTANTS? MEDIA EXPERTS?

C'mon, tell me.

Regards,

Firstspirit.

THANKYOU EVERYBODY FOR YOUR HELP AND ADVICE

Firstspirit offers many thanks for the help and humour over these past few weeks in relation to the above posting.

Due to the necessity of trying to get some sleep in between responding to other enquiries outside of these forums it has been decided to cease posting on this site. (Please do not cheer all at once!), but you are kindly invited to keep an eye on the others if you wish to follow.

An unreserved apology is offered to anyone who feels that they have been inconvenienced by any of the posts or threads in the posts. Firstspirit is an ordinary member of the public, obviously aggrieved by the act of negligence by the marina operator. Firstspirit has no special training in this regard and very little knowledge of computers too!

Whether the matter goes public or not I would again like to thank the many contributors for their invaluable help. Thank you.

Many Regards,

Firstspirit.

P.S. One thing that may have slipped my mind.....................at the time of this incident, the first mate was EIGHT MONTHS PREGNANT!

I don't think that you're going to get an answer to your question. After all it may help us to piece together what really happened!

One things for sure, we haven't had the full story.
