Can anyone give some guidance on the approximate standard annual service cost for a pair of Cummins QSB 5.9 380hp.in UK?
Many thanks, againThis is a bit out of date (2015) but the last QSB 425 Service (Trader 42) cost just over a thousand pounds including oil and anodes but excluding filters which would probably have added about one hundred and fifty. The service was carried out by an independent engineer who formerly worked for Cummins UK. I would not expect any difference between the 380 and 425 engines but you would have to add something for inflation.
Nice engines. Can anyone give some guidance on the approximate standard annual service cost for a pair of Cummins QSB 5.9 380hp.in UK?
Ouch. That makes me very glad I don`t keep my boat in France. My CAT Service in the autumn cost well under 2k for two engines. Scotland has benefits.I have a single QSB6.7 425hp (and an Onan generator). I just sent €4000 to the French Cummins dealer for a service on Thursday

Well, for a start they won’t be here till Thursday. They are going to give the engine and genny a scheduled service according to Cummins specifications. So they will check the electronic thingy with their laptop to see if there are any problems (not expecting any). Then they will change all the pencil anodes, change all fluids, change all filters and belts. The biggie this service is the after cooler which will be cleaned out. I’m not sure what else, but I’ll be there and let you know. What did they do?
