Approaching Portsmouth Saturday lunch time, preparing to call QHM for permission to cross to Gun Wharf. Nice looking 40' Sports Boat ahead beat me to it, so heard the following;

"QHM, QHM, this is "The Wife" over"

QHM replies, quick as a flash "I do hope not!," Made me smile all weekend. Paul

Nice one Paul, I wouldn't have expected wit like that from QHM, but nice to hear. I had a chuckle to myself on Sunday when I moored for the morning alongside the outer pontoon of the SIBS, had the entire marina to myself, and no-one said a word!

I do hope they wash all that bird c**p off before Friday though.

Regards,
Jonathan.

It made me laugh as well! And I was on duty on the QHM VP cat.Had a right old laugh with my crew member. Thought the response was outstanding and have been telling the story all weekend as well./forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I thought I'd seen on here that there was a QHM volunteer forumite. What a shame I didn't realise it was your good self, sorry I didn't say hello. Please pass on my regards to the card who made my day. Paul

Strange as it may seem, I only know him by voice. But it really made my day. It was so quick - not a moments hesitation. Actually saw the boat on its way back and heard him call up to cross again. What was great was the moment was not repeated which made the original response even better INMHO. I'm on duty next Sunday PM if you around. I'll keep an eye open for you. What's the boat's name?
