The escutcheon plates on our boat have corroded, new ones are really expensive £85 each !! This is the spec from the makers; The escutcheons are made of brass material, with spot welded studs. Polished and then chromed. After the chrome process they are PVD treated that gives an extra hard surface and put back the brass color finish. Any recommendations for PVD companies etc. I had never heard of this treatment. The old ones look like brass plate and then what I thought was a clear powder coat?

Thanks for any help

Google PVD Process company in the UK and you'll get quite a few but it's very expensive and possibly not suitable for used / contaminated items
