Does anybody know a supplier of the blue sleeve you see on mooring chains to stop hull damage. I have Googled and looked on eBay but can't find what I need.

How about the clear thick PVC tubing you can buy off the roll at B & Q?

There are those who have investigated 'parted moorings' incidents who will tell you that the end-edges of such poly tubes can saw through a mooring warp/strop when the boat is bouncing in a chop..... but if the poly tube is tied with cords such that it remains in the right place, it is almost as good as the lay-flat tubing Sara refers to.

One reason I use the blue lay-flat stuff is that a) it does the job, b) it lays flat when stowed, c) it's vanishingly cheap if it comes from a 'lifed item' fire insurance survey, and I have plenty of that. Er, that's 3 reasons..... ;)
