Pushpit Outboard Bracket - Hunter Horizon weird shape

I have a thick laminated block that is fitted to Pushpit T ... but if I did not have the T junction of the frame ... I would construct suitable from multiple laminations of decent WBP or Marine Ply.

Basically front and rear complete faces with shaped inner laminations that conform to the framework you fit to.

Bonded by using Epoxy Resin and strategic placed dowels locking whole together.

If the frame is not encapsulated into the mount .... then sufficient layers to creater strong 'block' then decent stainless fittings to mount.

The link you give - as far as I can see - the mount block is U bolted to frame ?? Surely that's just a plain laminated block ?

We have just bought a HH23 and want the same thing.

You won't buy an off the shelf bracket, but there is another HH23 in our harbour that has made one, and we will copy his.

Basically a square of wood clamped with two U bolts to the triangular shaped pushpit near the top. then a second piece of wood fixed to that. We think the second piece is just a spacer so a vertically hung OB clamped to it will clear the transom.

Sorry I don't have a photo but can take one next time i am in the harbour, which with the present lousy weather might not be for a week.

I made this for mine. It’s just scrap of sapele with some “horns” glued to the upper to prevent it wandering off sideways before you have the clamps tight. There’s also a tether which isn’t attached in the pic.

I have a ‘bracket’ that was marketed under the Plastimo label some years ago. It consists merely of two mini-brackets of white plastic that are separate and attached to the top rail. It should fit almost any boat and suits ours nicely and is quite unobtrusive when not in use. I’ll look for the maker’s name next time I go to the boat and see if it is still made.

My old one had one mounted on the stb qtr / transom just above the deck hull joint - a simple 3 piece fitting - 2 folded stainless ends and a piece of teak in between - kept the weigh off the push pit - I'll see if I can find a photo?
