pulsing water pump

My Water pump on my domestics has just starting pulsing , i had a new pump last year as it was leaking and doing the same thing but every hour or so and louder ,this time it is a very quick pulse but happens every 15 seconds , had a look at the pump and its not leaking anywhere. any suggestions my learned friends??

sounds like you have a leak in the water system, don't forget to check the safety valve on the calorifier tank as it dumps overboard.

Yes. If you have a hot water tank check the relief valve. Then check all bilges ect for a leak. Dose the water tank slowly empty as it is possible (but unlikely) that the nonreturn valves in the pump are leaking and the water is returning to the tank.

I had the same problem

Just fitted a new pressure relief valve on the Calorifier today. It now works perfectly.

if you have no leaks then fitting a non return valve before the pump usually cares this annoying problem, the inbuilt ones in the pumps never seem as good as the inline ones,

It's pressure loss in the system somewhere. Check the taps are all turned off & not dribbling, follow ALL the pipework - I know it's a pain but it needs to be done.
