Pulsar 5000.What is it

Have in inherited a black box.7x8ins,with a 4x5ins screen,knobs for depth,scan,sen.Ranges of 3m,12.5m,25m,100m. Is it a depth gauge/fishfinder?Are they still made,if so by who.Has anybody got an instruction book.The screen lightsup with some lines but not much more.Pulsar 5000.Can anybody help?

I carried out a search on the internet and came up with a Pulsar 5000 at http://www.mkckorea.com/ndtplaza/ndt/flaw_detector/utfd_plaza.htm. It is similar but not identical to your description. Unfortunately the page is written in Korean but there is a picture of the item. The company appears to manufacture elecronic equipment for testing materials using sonar so if this is your instrument, it will only work AFTER you have run aground! Perhaps it has been used for testing keel bolts?
