Pse Recommend: A 12V Waterproof Camera with large memory

I bought an SJ9000 4K waterproof camera from Banggood for the princely sum of £13. It's absolutely useless. The automatic exposure control cycles constantly from too bright to too dark, and theres no way of stopping it. If it sounds too good to be true.....

This is exactly what I referred to as a SJCAM clone...same look, same model number starting with SJ, but quality really poor.

You do, however, get compatible accessories and a battery for less than what you would pay for them individually.

The SJ series themselves are in fact Clones of another brand. The SJ Series are reasonable - but you will not see many used compared to GoPro and Runcams etc.

There are reasonable Sportcams of same design on eBay and Banggood that will deliver as good as or even better than the SJ. But of course there are those that are just plain rubbish ... and lets be honest - if you pay $13 for an SJ camera ... its definitely not SJ !!

I have signed up for a trip that I will never repeat - up the R. Severn under the M4/48 bridges via the Sharpness canal to Gloucester. I'd like to record the trip for my dotage.

Afterwards, I would like to use the 'boatcam' occasionally on my own boat.

Put simply it would be similar to a waterproof (e.g. motorcycle) dashcam with GPS for location ans speed and, for a long recording time, 64Gb storage and external 12V supply. GoPro kit would be OTT for this.

Has anyone already looked and found such an item?

On amazon. comes with waterproof case, battery charger and a load of fixings so you can operae it remotely... I can be used in outside the waterproof case and then records sound... I think it is high quality and incredible value for money... I have purchased several for a series of pilot films I intend making
