Anyone see the Men of Iron last night on CH4?

I was amazed that when they tested the 150 year old prop design it was within 5% efficiency of current props! After all those years - prop design has changed very little.

I didn't actually see this one unfortunately, 'cos its a good series. There has been other programs on the efficiency of the original design, and interestingly there has also been tests against paddles wheel boats, which the engineers of the day said would be far superior to props....errrm

Brunel was a genius and should have won last years Greatest Briton on Beeb 2 by a mile IMHO

Shame... no mention of Neyland where he finished his Great Western Railway and built the planned terminus for the Trnsatlantic crossings.
Still has Brunel Quay with the original rails.
Also a statue to the great man holding a steam engine in one hand and a ship in the other.
