Proposed trip to St.Kat's in July ......

Just come back from a weeks stay there - The lock keeper's advice was to call them firstly around Greenwich so they can start keeping a look out for you and a second time as you round the final bend opposite the Western side of Canary Wharf.

The day trip boats make the final stretch of water very choppy at times

Not 1/2 a bad as those refuge barges do. we went to Tr br first as it just has to be done, then called them.
the little geezer *******ed me for wanting to moor mid ships cleat first, thats how we do it says i, NOT in MY lock says he, stern first. **** doesnt know how my boat handles but after 16 yrs i do

I am now resident in Limehouse with Mrs FC.
I have spoken to Sirenia, who will be here Sunday.

Could Independence and Gitane please confirm their arrival window, the booking has been made but not altered.

Gitane is now on a mooring in the Swale. I will sail/motor to queensborough to arrive at around high tide tomorrow (Saturday).

Looking forward to seeing you all.

Are there any particular mooring I should pick up at QB?

In terms of arrival at limehouse, I will aim to arrive after high water, say HW+1, London bridge as I understand the water will be smoother.

Ron, it will be quite choppy, just grit your teeth.
If you are still on the flood, pass Limehouse entrance and come in against the tide, its a lot easier. Use ch80, the lockkeeper has it on his shoulder holster.

Sirenia on the way

We are now about 2 hours from queenbrough.

I think Lime house lock stops working at 18:00.
Maybe Jim could. Check this for us.

With 24 hours notice they will open until 2200.

Give me a call with your ETA.

Paul arrived today just after 4 so I think you will be fine.

Lovely meal and evening with the Independii at teh Narrow, the pub on the entrance to the marina.

Watched 3 mobos and a barge exit the lock at 0620 this morning, so they do open as advertised.

I have arrived in Chatham marina.

I left with Sirenia this morning, but bottled it when I heard the gale warning for the Thames region.

Hope Sirenia has an uneventful passage. Sorry to miss meeting you all.

We'll hang around the Medway until the weather calms down and then wend my way back to Bradwell, possibly via Tollesbury.

Well done Ron, correct choice for boat/potential conditions.

Sirenia arrived.

All confirmed for leaving Wednesday morning. We are off to an Austrian restaurant this evening

CURRY NIGHT IS ON FOR TOMORROW NIGHT

5-30PM ONWARD AT WATER POET

7-30 ON FOR ALADIN BRICK LANE.

See you tomorrow

Sirenia had a quite quick trip up to Limehouse.
Quite bumpy in places with wind against tide.
Good meal last night with Jim, Lynn, Paul, Rosemary and Tim.
Jim did take some photos which I don't doubt will apper on here soon.
Intending to stay till Wednesday as long as the marina let us as we are booked in from last Thursday till today.
We will see what they say when we pay the bill.

Gitane is still in Chatham. Quite a productive day as I got quite a few jobs that I havn't got around to, done. Even baked bread in the pressure cooker!! I'll stick my nose out tomorrow to see what things are like. If all looks ok, I intend to anchor in Stangate Creek and head back to Essex on Wednesday. If Tuesday is still no good, i'll hang around for another day.
