Proper name for this nut? (The 14mm nut used for tensioning the belts on KAD)

They're looking a little shabby on the engine so want to replace, but not paying 10euro for each one from above site.

I'm sure my local engineering firm would have them but don't know proper name for the nut, can anyone help? Or advise on a place that they can be gotten for a reasonable price

Is it threaded all the way through, or is a blind hole? My guess would be "hexagon deep nut".

It does have a thread inside , but when its screwed on the the adjuster rod it grips it once so that it can be used to slacken off the adjuster and then turn the other way to adjust the belt, remember to do this correctly you must use a torque wrench on the said bolt head. You can lock two nuts together.

What amazes me is the fact you have a boat worth circa 60k yet you won't spend a tender on something that In practise if not tensioned correctly on the water pump pulley could overheat your engine causing thousands of pounds worth of damage. I attended a boat last week where the tension pulley had exploded causing the engine to overheat , sit back and have a re think.

Paul it's more a thing of wanting to get one locally if possible hence looking for proper name... thought 10euro for a nut is crazy price. I don't mind paying for things (put 100 hours on the engines this season, quite a bit of fuel) but i'm no mug. The website I refer to above is known as being very expensive... why pay more than you need to? If we did, we'd all be skint!

Anyhow back on topic, yeah I use a torque wrench for the belts and tighten to about 38Nm (recommended 35 - 40). I actually keep the wrench on the boat now as I like to check the belts every few weekends, with the wrench on the boat i'm more likely to do it.
