Propellor Polishing

After a couple of seasons' of half measures proved to be ineffective, I did this properly this year, and it made a significant imrpovement with my 3-blade Volvo folder.

For cleaning I used Limelite with with s/steel pan scourers (hard work!), then rinsed it and dumped it in a bath of Pickling Vinegar for a couple of days - which REALLY gets it clean.

Then I gave it the TopCat47 treatment (heating it up then painting with Lanolin).

Works for me.

I didn't stick mine in the oven. Assuming it would even fit in there -which I doubt -SWBO would take a dim view of that /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif .

I used an electric paint strip gun to heat the prop. From the resulting improvement in prop efficiency this year, it did enough to make the Lanolin 'treatment' work.
