Why is it that the only thing that is not be replaced when a new engine is fitted is the propeller ?

I don't think you are right. I am just having a new, more powerful engine fitted and I would seem to be underpropped with the old prop.

Looks like the cost of a new prop to be added.

Dead right. The prop for my boat is probably the right size, but it appears to go the wrong way, so it is running in reverse.
