recently bought a Fjord 33 MS it has a 2 bladed 22" X 16" RH. I wish to change to a 3 bladed prop to have a bit more bite when reversing in marinas. The boat has a Perkins 4/108 and a TMP 3-1 reduction gearbox. The 2 bladed prop give about 6 1/2 knots at 2000 revs, but having a long keel not much bite in rev. Any ideas please

If you contact TC Norris, Wood Lane, Isleworth, London...they have a web site..or telephone them..they're in the directory here or in the back pages of PBO, they will calculate the corrrect prop size for you.

They will require engine HP, gearbox reduction , boats overall length and the length at the water line and the beam at the water line.

I've also a long keel and having just gone up in size in prop it has given me more power but not improved steering performance going astern as there is now more bite from the prop and prop walk is more evident.
