Please advise: I have always assumed that a gearbox with a 2:1 ratio would turn the prop 500 times @ 1000 revs, but it might it be 2000 times @ 1000 revs. Is it one of these two or even something else?

Thank you,

John G

I have always understood it as 2000 engine to 1000 prop if it was the other way round it would cause the prop to cavitate.
