Project idea - seeking help.

Hi,

I live in Chelmondiston and develop software for a living.

For a few years now I’ve been sitting on an idea for a product aimed at the technically aware boat owner, either sail or power, with NMEA enabled devices on board. I would love to take this forward and turn it into a real life product. My problem is that I don’t have a boat or access to a boat with NMEA enabled devices on board.

I’m looking for a local partner who would be interested in sharing the project, I would bring to the table the hardware, software and development time and the partner would bring a test environment to the table and feedback on the functionality. In return we would agree to share any profits.

I was wondering if you would be possibly interested in finding out more about the idea or whether you know any potential technically aware boat owner that might be interested?

Many thanks for any help you can provide.

I sail on the Orwell from SYH. I have a Raspberry pi which sends AIS data to my tablet using OpenCPN. This works well. I am trying to multiplex NMEA 0183 data from a Raymarine multifunction display into the pi but there are comms issues we have not resolved yet.
I would be happy to cooperate as a tester.

Good luck if you reply to this, he's been asking this question since 2010 and doesn't bother to answer PMs. I messaged him in 2010 and again in response to this latest post (before i realised i'd answered him in 2010). No replies to either.
