Project boat for sale valuation?

Hi there, we have been given a boat as the owner no longer wants it, we want to sell it but we know nothing about boats. Its a 23 ft long small cabin boat, solid hull but need work ( ideally a project boat) the engine used to run but has been sitting for over a year. I can send pics but would have to be by email unless you can upload them on here. Any help/info would be helpful. Thanks

I suspect without a photo you won't get much help.

look on ebay for comparable boats. Is it wood or plastic?

At the moment this is a, "how long is a piece of string" question. A photo is definitely needed, use the third button from the right above the box that you write in when you are posting.
Even boats that are in good condition don't get much money these days so a project boat may fetch very little. As has been suggested, look for completed listings on eBay.
Ease of sale will also depend on where in the country the boat is and where it is stored and how easy it would be to move it or keep it where it is. Don't forget that most people have to pay to store their boats and it doesn't take long for an old boat to rack up more fees than the boat is worth. Is there a clue in the fact that you were given the boat?
First step is to identify the boat, post a photo!

It seems to me that project boats are sold on ebay, rather than anywhere else, so I'd just put it on there with no reserve, and whatever you get is what it's worth.

Just check it doesn't say "Riva" on the back first. If it does, PM me and I'll give you a ton for it

I agree eBay is the place to sell it but knowing the make and model might help to find a buyer.
