today when rehoisting the fore sail roller reefing ( profurl ) the foil almost came out of the housing , only the sharp eye of my wife stopped it in time , realighning it and put it back down and in again . ( dont know how far up it came or how far back down it came , tho marks on the foil suggest it is a good 6 inches ) have had a good look at what could be / should be holding the foil into the housing but cant see anything decisive ,, there are two studs in the plastic roller which were loose but other than that i imagine it might be the 4 bug stainless allen nuts in the main housing , ( they gonna be a bitch to move , only one of the 4 is moving at all ) can anyone shine any light on how i can relocate the foil ,, ta R

Is this any help ?

Profurl

Trying to remember how my Profurl bottom unit was installed - I fitted it all myself ... but it was many years ago. I do remember it was a simple affair though. The foil also relying on the furling line going to top of foil and then back down again - creating a secure doubled back line ..

all sorted ,,, i think somehow the foil had turned in the housing , ,,, lined it all up and it fell back into place ,,, but no real location pins just a couple of light pressure tabs ,, anyways all good ? ( tnks Refueler for your reply (y) )

Magic ... like I said - it was a long time ago when I fitted it but I do recall it was a simple arrangement.

I know I liked the furling line idea - my boat (Sanpdragon 23) had no Spinnaker halyard - so the Profurl released the genny halyard for that ... saving me rigging another ...

I wish I had it now instead of the Plastimo 609 on present boat.
