can anyone tell me if it is worth having? I'm considering buying a boat with in on, but have heard mixed comments about in-boom reefing. Could do with some advice ASAP.

Thanks

Chris

you will get diametrically opposite views from people abt in-mast and in-boom furling. IMHO if you are sailing alone or shorthanded, some form of mainsail furling is great (I have easyreef) Yes they can get jammed if you are not taking care when reefing, however the ease of reefing has meant that I tend to reef much sooner now than I used too, and you dont have to cope with that sail flapping on the boom.

thank you for your reply Talbot, when sailing with 2 year old twins, anything that makes life easier, even if I have to take care when using it, is well worth having.
