This has just happen to me on my sealine S23 with KAD32, exactly the same symptoms. What was the root cause did it work better after the injectors went back in I can't see what the fix was! Please let us all know.
Sleeve insert is a bodge job , as I’ve said before I’ve seen the sleeve welding fail on 2 units refurbished by this company , one resulting in a full engine rebuild after the coolant entered the cylinders causing a hydraulic lock .Im so sorry I had forgotten to update the thread.
The problem was ultimately the turbo.
The original one on the boat had gone out of spec, thus the boat was starting to lose performance over the season.
What had completely boggled my mind is that after replacing the turbo with a reconditioned one, the problem remained the same (if not worse).
The injectors servicing did not make any difference, maybe just a bit less smoke on startup.
Then I took the original turbo to the same company, and they reconditioned it (sleeve and replaced the kit).
When I reinstalled it the boat few out of the water. Everything was perfect.
I could not understand why the first reconditioned turbo was not working.
After about a year I learned that when they reconditioned it they mistakenly installed a larger exhaust housing on this turbo. Apparently there’s a number of different exhaust housings that they use on the same-looking turbos. They made a mistake basically, and didn’t realize.
As a friendly note, if you’re having performance issues on your boat, the first thing to do is to physically clean the hull (even if you think it’s clean.) Clean it to make sure. Then replace air and fuel filters.
If you still have issues then you start to troubleshoot.
What's the company name, can't seem to find it in the thread.Sleeve insert is a bodge job , as I’ve said before I’ve seen the sleeve welding fail on 2 units refurbished by this company , one resulting in a full engine rebuild after the coolant entered the cylinders causing a hydraulic lock .

Or a company that fit genuine new exhaust housings not the bodge up company on the south coast .A new turbo is the correct solution.
