PRM gearbox oil filter

I need to replace the oil filter on my PRM 160 gearbox. The current filter is G.U.D. code Z8 which I am told is now obsolete.

Does any one know the current filter type and of a supplier mail order. I have emailed ASPS for info with no reply yet

you may have some joy with these

or take the old one to your local car/commercial trade parts supplier and they may be able cross reference it

fleetguard LF607 seems to be the correct cross reference but check it yourself

I had the same issue last year (can't remember the model of my PRM offhand as I'm not near my boat file). PRM state that the oil filter was ineffective and they have therefore produced a blanking plate to fit instead. You can buy this from ASAP Supplies. On the other hand, you may want to buy an adapter which allows you to fit a modern oil filter (I did). You can buy this from Alabatross Marine (Google it).

Hope this helps. Approx costs? £7 ish for the blank, £25 for the adapter & new filter, IIRC.
