Private Health Insurance companies for EU and UK - any recommends ?

Unfortunately Saga aren’t interested in people my age, something I’m increasingly finding problematic with early retirement is I don’t fit in anyone’s expected bucket so everything is harder than it should be.

I recall that although they insure people over 50, they aren't very competitive until you reach more mature years! Easily the best deal at over 70, though.

We have Spanish residency and as we haven't swapped out of the NHS for the Spanissh equivalent we have to have full health insurance for Spain. The Spanish companies are much cheaper than the UK equivalents and have good cover for while we are out of Spain. You may find the same applies to France

Can a non-resident buy them though? There was a whole kerfuffle after Brexit where boat insurers withdrew products accross borders so wondering if medical insurance is similar.
