Priory Bay - Private Security guards patrolling

Well I always quote what it says in my passport , and what men died for , quote.
TO ALL THOSE IT MAY CONCERN TO ALLOW THE BEARE TOPASS FREELY WITHOUT HINDRANCE,AND TO AFFORD THE BEARER SUCH ASSISTANCE AND PROTECTION AS MAY BE NECESSARY. IN THE NAME OF THE QUEEN.

IIRC it actually goes more like " Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State requests and requires etc etc etc....................."

But I know what you mean ?

I have some sympathy for the landowners, I live near an open area of downland which has seen huge amounts of rubbish left by visitors over the recent period and am involved with some woodland that had several times been saved, more by luck than anything else, by fire spreading from unauthorised 'camp fires' that have not been properly extinguished.

Well had to hand mine in police station so could not recite, word for word.

Why not do it on your own land ........in your own backyard ?
Just because some one has more , is that it why you go on there property .

I kick em off if I see ramblers staying onto our U.K. land if i spot them ,

Oh we do. Until now I had believed all land below the HW mark was free to roam and access. Certainly I am not unique in my practise as every other boater where we are enjoys the beaches in a similar manner and although we have met many wardens they have never said anything to the contrary or forbade us access even on the Llanddwyn which is a world heritage site. It is in fact the social thing to do. As before though, we are meticulous in cleaning up after ourselves. I also think there is a subtle difference between private ownership and "govt" ownership in that the latter are stewards of the land. I would not enter your private property, farmland or woodland or private beach. However beaches are different and from what I can see is albeit owned the vast majority are indeed still free to access and all linked by coastal paths. That's the way of it here at least.
