Princess V39

Hi Lisa we have a V39 at swanick called Sir Henry on C pontoon were down this weekend if you fancy a chat and look onboard happy to answer any questions?? Keeley

Out of interest, I think there used to be a SC35 at Swanwick called Sir Henry, was that your previous boat, if so, your experience of both models would be perfect for Lisilou.

Brilliant...That'd be great, thankyou. I'm hoping to be at the boat this weekend so I'll pop round and pick your brains. Even better the fact you used to own a 35 aswell.

Yep that was our old boat, it's now in Windermere as far as we know !!

Very interesting for those of us with SC35's (or similar) dreaming of the next upgrade!! Would you mind me asking what the catalyst for moving to the V39 was and have you been happy with the change?

Hi U4 we made the change as our ultimate end boat is a V57 so it seemed wise to jump into a new brand at entry level ,it was more of a side step as we haven't gained much more in size or space ...

Just to echo Jack's comments, I spent a lot of time out on the V39 and didn't have any visibility problems. It was quite choppy when we were out too, so after the first soaking we were running with the roof closed! For the record I'm about 6ft 2in.

The only slight (and no doubt easily resolved) issue I had with the helm was that there is no seat adjustment. As it happened it fitted me just fine, but I wondered whether someone smaller might want to sit a little closer to the wheel.

I have found a few times that I've sat at boat helms while stationary and questioned the visibility (maybe what seems to be an intrusive mullion for example), only to discover that, once out and running, I don't notice it. Not always the case, sometimes what appears intrusive actually is, but I think we subconsciously adapt when it's not a big issue and don't notice it when we're not looking for it (if that makes sense).

Finally, I'll add a shameless plug of my own Princess V39 videos in case they're of interest. :)

Thanks Nick....growing on me with every review posted I have to say. So glad the visibility issues I have are proving unfounded.

You're very welcome. As ever the proof is in the proverbial pudding so it will be interesting to hear what your own experiences are when you get out on one.

Best of luck. :)

Will report back with my very own MBY/MBM-esque write up lol. Could be a while tho...so don't hold your breath :D

Thanks Scott and Keeley for the tour and for letting me pick your brains. Really helpful. Lovely, lovely boat BTW and great to meet you both.

Would love to know your thoughts Lisa on the differences between the 2 boats, I really like them both but never been onboard the v39

Matt I can honestly say I didn't think there would be another boat in the same size (give or take) that would give that same sense of space as the 35 but the V39 does and with an awesome quality look and feel. I have no issues whatsoever with the quality of our Sealine but I have to say, the finishing touches on the V39 can't be argued with at all. It just smacks of quality thru and thru. The aft cabin gives more headroom at the foot of the bed which is a big plus. You also have a mirror on the wardrobe door...another plus. It truly is a beautiful boat and there really is nothing NOT to like about it. The biggest surprise to me was, as I walked aboard Scott & Keeleys V39, it actually felt even beamier in the cockpit than the 35 and that's saying something! Scott has further dispelled my concerns over the forward vis and I have to say, sitting on the berth, at the helm SEATED, the vis felt better than my experience on the show stand. I personally would have to opt for the added step option for the helm when standing. At 5'7, I had to tip toe to see thru the roof or bend down to see thru the screen.
All said and done Matt, the layout is flawless as is the quality. The price tag of course is very different to the 35 BUT still the 35 is a hell of a lot of boat/quality for the money. Between this, the s450, the new F380 and the Fairline equivalent...I'm struggling to choose between them but money will be the deciding factor needless to say.

Cheers Lisa, interesting to hear and glad the visibility didn't seem to be much of an issue. Good luck with whatever you decide for your next boat!

Cheers for the insight Scott! The V57 is one of my all time favorites as well :)

HI Lisa,
I was interested in your comments comparing the two boats; if I'm not mistaken, the SC35 is 38ft long whilst the V39 is actually 42ft long. To me, a four foot difference in LOA should mean a lot more room. It seems to me that the SC 35 can hold it's own with the V39 (in terms of space on board) even though if it has a shorter LOA. I know there is more to consider than just space on board and the V39 is a fantastic boat with sublime build quality and sea keeping but I think your comments also point towards what a great job Sealine did with Sc-35.
It'll be interesting to see what you eventually change to (if you decide to change that is) I've also seen your comments regarding the new Sealine F380 on the Sealine forum.....decisions decisions!!!

Decisions indeed lol. The 35 is 36ft LOA and the V39 is as you say 42 LOA but I would guess 2-2 1/2 of that extra 6 feet will be on the 39's swim platform. The forward cabin has probably an extra foot of floor space at the foot of the bed whilst the remainder I'm guessing by comparison will be in the saloon tho it felt negligable. It'll come down to price tag and best value for money for us. I think you have to go some to beat Sealine on that score imo.
