Princess V39

Sorry no pix taken

As JtB says its 42ft without the extra head but now has the lowering swim platform iso garage / sunpad. Its 42ft long.

Big volume I thought and fab and airy down below where most small sportboats are a bit bat cave after the sundeck, the volume I understand is so good due to new process that allows less hull stiffening and thus the saloon sole is closer to the hull mounding . The one head is huge with a sit down shower enclosure and the package is roughly £100K less than the V42

Nice boat

Anyone been out on it?

I love the V39 and at the moment I think it would suit me perfectly..however I am holding out until i have actually been out on one..Has anyone done this yet? I am interested to hear what the noise levels were like in the cockpit when underway. Just to be clear, I am not concerned that it will be louder than most just hopefull that it will be very much quieter ;-)

V39

Had a good look at it yesterday very nice its a med spec boat going to Spain I think the rep said they are producing 1 every 1.5 weeks Could be sale's talk
V39 is over 42ft and beamy
Hi/Li bathing platform and large locker on transom
Cock pit layout good
Hatch to Engines for good access and plenty of room.
Dash lay out very nice the integrated Ray marine instruments look terrific
Sliding roof looks good, but standing at helm position with roof closed is not an option if over 5'8, Mullions are thick and the top of the window screen seems to be at line of sight
The twin helm bucket sets are great, shame one of the bolsters had snapped.
Down stairs what you expect from Princess quality and fit-out , but the rear bedroom is excellent space with very good storage and swing together singles with large draws

I took a look today, in my opinion you have a limited forward view, the top of the windscreen is in the way. Not a very good design at all, like trying to steer looking through a letterbox.

Are you referring to the height/position of the top of the windscreen in relation to the helm floor(as per JtB) or specifically the rake of the windscreen itself, which is what I think you mean when you say "looking through a letterbox" I will take another look on Thursday......

I refer to the height of the top of the screen when standing on the helm floor. I tend to stand up when close quarter (ie. marina) maneuvering. I am 5ft 11inches and felt the top of the screen was too low.

Is anybody asked how they did rear canvas?
Is back seat usable when canvas is on? and is there any locker where to roll it (like in SC35), or do you have to remove it complete?

Don't know about the useability of the back seat with the canvas on - but the answer to the roll-up locker is almost certainly no, afaik Princess don't do that on any of their boats.

It looks like the canvas slides in out of a channel around the perimeter of radar arch. I imagine there will be the option to roll the covers up as opposed to sliding them out/stowing them every time.

Cheers,

Jack

Actually, Jack's post made me remember that I've got a bit more detail here about the rear cover arrangements. The boat is supplied as standard with a tonneau cover; but as a cost option you can have a full-height cockpit cover on a stainless steel frame with vertical supports; the sides of the cover are removeable so that the remaining top can act as a sun awning.

Looking at the boat in profile, you can imagine that the rear seat in the cockpit won't be very useable at all when the standard cover is in place; but with this optional framed cover you would be ok.

Cheers

I wont even need to look at this boat soon, JTB...
So, £300k buys you a boat where you cant use the rear seats with the covers on, unless you buy an option ?

I reckon one of Sealine's better ideas is the flexible canopy supports on the S43, they look sort of like tent poles, though i've never seen them close up so they may be SS.

Not having seen the covers on the boat, I don't know what the std cover design is - I'm just speculating. You'll just have to have a look for yourself ... see you tomorrow then! :D

If steel frame, I really hope that someone is designed it better looking than in Sessa C38 case, where rear canvas actually ruins whole boat and blocks side decks too.
Looks super fast and easy to put on and off :D
