Hi All,

Without giving away too much, has anyone got experience moving between the Princess Yachts brand and the Fairline brand?

The new 53GT is ticking a lot of boxes, and I was wondering if anyone has examples of the benefits of brand loyalty, or perhaps a difference in after sales or sales treatment?

Many thanks for your comments

haven't Burton Waters just changed from Princess to Fairline? Boats UK have gone the other way. so why not give both a call and see what they say? You could also visit both at SIBS in a few weeks?

Never owned either but been on both & test driven Fairline, IMO Princess are slightly better put together but Fairline are a little more innovative. I have an Italian boat which takes some beating on both counts if that helps.

I am sure they will tell you that what they are selling now is better to the previous.

Personally I think Fairline was the better British production boat in all accounts from 2003/4 up until 2010/11. But Princess since LV Group took over, and started enhancing the brand are really a nice builder to see.

Another concern if you where going for a 16 meter hard top sport yacht, is that the V52 has been in production for quite some time so I would not be surprised that thanks to the new 53 Targa GT Princess will replace that model in a year or so.
You have to understand that the V52 was practically unchallenged in its size by other major European production builders in recent years or so.
Fairline tried to hit at it with the 50 Targa GT but that has not worked well, and at some point Sunseeker had the 52/53 Predator which was in reality a 17 meter over-all boat i.e larger.
