Has anyone experience of the older 1988 P45 and the non-tidal Thames. According to the spec should be a foot clear @ 11'9"/3.58m with arch dropped, but not allowing for arch of the bridge?? Beam 14' so assuming around 11' for the flybridge?

Windsor bridge, Cookham lock cut bridge, Marlow and Henley are most likely to be a bit tight. Windsor and Henley are the most curved.
Draft can also be tight at the moment as water levels are lower than usual.

Thank you for the responses, i have had smaller vessels like Sealine on the Thames before, and recall the arch at Windsor. Just looking at the listed clearance it should pass, but this arch being a big concern as the older P45 is quite a square/box flybridge! May have to rethink!! :)

How strange this post comes up as I Am thinking of boating on the Thames next year and looking at suitable boats for the job , whilst my heart has always been a flybridge, my head tells me otherwise , I’d like to think we could get as far as Abingdon from Windsor area, no berth or boat yet sourced but searching the net now for a suitable boat .

Im am more active on the motor boat forum but will be on here now doing some Thames research .

Aft cabin boats are popular on the river, both GRP and steel. Draft is becoming an issue as the river has not been dredged for many years - and of course air draft too!
