We would also be happy at 8 knots at displacement speed, useful to have the extra cruising speed if required as the boat will be Bristol Channel based eventually.

All relevant points guys...water line length of the 385 is close to 38.5 feet. Oal is around 41/42ft. Haven't bothered entering that into the calculator to be honest. Not sure it is a full planing hull either. She has a fairly big keel on her.
Regardless, great boats and engines. The apparent rated speed for them is getting on for 30knots. Haven't personally seen this, but I've witnessed 26knts with nearly full tanks. She holds 1000 litres, I'm always telling my old man that he doesn't need to carry that amount...like carrying a small car on the boat. Haha.
Lovely sound from the straight through exhausts bit slightly anti social in the quiet and lazy marina's of the west coast of Scotland !
