Having researched the means of lowering flybridge radar towers on a few craft (Cookham Bridge clearance being crucial) am I right in thinking the Princess 40 radar arch is virtually the same height as the flybridge screen and that the 'electronics etc' are mounted on the S/S frame above the actual arch. Anyone able to confirm please? Particularly the fact that, with the S/S framer removed, the Princess 40 (2002) will pass the Cookham Bridge test? Thank you for your patience.

Hi you might see my first post on here, the Princess 40 is of interest to me so I’ve been asking the same question, let’s hope someone can give the height information required
Where do you moor your boat?

Hi - I found the answer on the Princess Model History - the height from waterline to the top of the arch (which is what we really need as the minimum) is 3.63m. That gives us a clearance of circa 170mm or, in ‘old money’ , something just over 6” for the Cookham Lock Cut bridge. I’m comfortable with that - although the river condition will be the ultimate judge.
I also found another ybw.com poster asking about the Princess 42 (currently appearing on page 7 of the Motor Boat Forum as it was a while ago) and that listed the height for the 42 at 3.65.

Many thanks .

Did squeeze a Fairline Brava under Windsor Bridge with the radar arch still in place but all the stainless bits removed.
On passage from Limehouse to Bray.
We may have left a little smear of gelcoat on the underside of the bridge.
