I don't suppose anyone could please answer my question. What is underneath the carpet on the Princess 38? I assumed it would be Marine ply. My delightfully optimistic OH thinks it could be a lovely teak and holly cabin sole.....?

Which era of princess 38

Round about 2000

The saloon has 3 large glasfibre panels that lift out to service the engines, (Staboard engine a nightmare to remove impeller). Speaking from experience. The galley is a fibreglass floor moulding , mounded to the hull with lift out plywood panels to gain access to the bilges.
Have you just purchased this boat?

Thanks for your answer. No, not purchased it.

We have narrowed the field down to (according to budget & size) a Princess 38 & a Prestige 36. I'm more partial to the Prestige whereas OH seems to be more partial to the Princess.

I'm trying to figure out what would have to be done on either boat. So far, the Princess is looking like more work.

I've been Looking for a Princess 38 for a while, missed one in Plymouth, a good built boat but hard to find now.

that Princess 34 I told you about is for sale but has outdrives as you know plus probably not quite big enough for you and engines a bit small ?

Hard to find and they did not build a lot of these. I think around over the 20 mark.
They released this when the 40 was still in production, and the 40 costed a few k mores and felt much bigger in some areas.
But to be fair I think the 38 had a nicer line then the 40.
