Early ones had TAMD 40 b 165 hp with ms 3 gearbox, avoid .
Most had 41A/41B,
Some had Cummins 250 , a great combination .
I know of one with Mermaid 210s if you want his number it's for sale

Boat definately has 200 HP engines
Presume there will be plate somewhere on both engine and gearbox identifying exactly which model.
Boat started from cold with the merest trace of smoke and engaged gear smooothly and with no apparent noise.

Boat is about to return from Wales to civilization and NO its not Haydens old boat, no 50 gallon oil drum in lazerette for a start.

As some may know I helped 'HLB' with His boat for a while
Mending bits etc etc etc
And scoffin his whiskey!
Crawled all over his TAMD Volvos and gearboxes
For some strange reason, I never got to the bottom of it (although I got to the 'bottom' of said vessel right enough on many occasions) why He had two different gearbox oil's 'viscosity' aboard, because H was told that why was the way it is!
H would understand that retort by the way
I think what had happened was when HLB's boat 'sank' recon and newer/ replacement gearboxes were fitted!
So, oldgit it may be a good thing that it aint Hayden's old boat!

Have always wanted a Princess 35 and the rot really set in when we parked behind one on the Thames at Lady Lyndsies Lawn several years ago. A workman like boat and not some designer confection best permanently moored in a marina.
While sitting comfortably on the P35 in the marina it was interesting to watch the Sealine next door bouncing around like demented cork in the swell.
Afraid after Haydens adventures with Muckyfarter and seeing that P35 on Gods Own River, the days of my old boat really were numbered.
Took a long while to sell my boat and looked at lots of tired old overpriced junk most of it "well past its sink by date" but he who waits etc.
Brokers in the main were all very helpful and some went out of their way to assist.
Many owners appear to still be living in some pre financial crash dream world and unable to grasp if you do have a buyer half interested, you should rip his arm off if an offer is made.
This especially applies to sellers on the Thames.
We were going to look at boat in Scotland but first spoke to broker regards I had X amount of cash and would seller consider negociating around that figure, was told NO, he had sold boat,so we changed plans went to look at Welsh boat first .....and promptly bought it.
On journey back received a phone call from broker stating that Scottish seller had changed his mind and would we like to look at the boat ?
In the end the trip to Conwy produced a well loved boat at price that reflects the realities of the 2017 market.
