Princess 33

Old Princesses (marine projects) are wonderful boats I have a Princess 37. 45 years old. Twin 120 mermaids (actualy ford dorset lorry engines with a mermaid badge). Soild boats, 1/2 inch thick hull. Not fast. but very stable and last forever. Now kept in France, but in the 20 years I have owned her have done many coastal cruises and channel crossings. Cruised Freisland, Holland, Germany, Belgium and France. Along with med cruising to Spain and Italy. Over the years have changed and updated most things, I have even changed an engine. You can do anything with a solid hull. Would not change to a modern boat with a flimsy hull.

Hi Sandmartin,
Lovely to hear about your Princess and yes I agree with you re. the solid hull. The quality of fit out is also superb. I have the 80hp Mermaids, so not as sprightly as your boat, but then I didn't buy Lily for water-skiing, mostly rivers and coastal trips.

Hi I have recently bought a Princess 33 as well. Dont know if you have a manual but I contacted Princess boats and they were very helpful and trawled their archives and e mailed me a photo copy I was very impressed with the after service especially for a 40 year old boat.
 
BTW what throttle controls does yours have? Mine has Volvo Penta controls which are worn and need changing. I currently have another post running to see if anyone knows of a direct replacement as I think these are unavailable now plus I am told they are not very responsive as they tend to be sloppy getting into neutral etc

Hi Fishfoxey,
Lily has Volvo Penta controls as well, but operate ok at present, but interested to find out suitable replacement for the future.

Hi fishfoxey, I have written to Princess, but not had a reply so far re a manual.
Don't suppose you still have a copy you could email me ?
