I always feel somewhat surprised that people reckon that we are paying for the royal family, and that means that they should be available 24/7 for abuse and deep personal intrusion.
The facts are that the firm have exchanged the revenue from the crown estates for the annual salary. The revenue from the estates is about 3x what they get back, and they volunteered to pay tax on that as well. Furthermore a good proportion of that provides enormous revenue from foreign tourism and trade.
There is no doubt that Prince Harry is a handfull, but why are we surprised - the death of his mother and marital problems with his parents are continually be dragged out whenever the media have a slow news day, so these wounds have never had a chance to heal, thus a rebellious teenager has no chance to grow up and discard his childish ways. If you have ever experienced a trully rebellious tenager, you will know what little degree of control is really possible.
Furthermore To todays youth, the 2nd world war is in the dark ages of history, they are more used to the portrails on Television than any real understanding of the history, and thus the horrors of the camps are possibly not even known by a high proportion of todays youth, after all, how many of the people today actually reallise that the terrors of concentration camps was a british invention and used to great effect in South Africa during the Boer War, and that all the reported genocide around the world is a pale imitation of what Britain achieved in Tasmania, where ethnic cleansing was totally 100% achieved.
Finally how would these stone throwers like it if every little mistake our children made was published around the world. if people are that upset by the use of nazi uniform as fancy dress, why have they not been campaigning to get it banned.
And a a final thought, the very fact that he did wear this uniform hs caused considerably more publicity against the attrocities than would ever have been achieved by normal means
