Kilmelford have written saying they are increasing prices for 2005. I think £10 a week for a mooring is absolutely scandalous and £8 is quite enough. I would like to create a protest group and would ask that you all write letters of protest to them in support of my protest.
Please Help.

Actually very cheap compared with many. although its always a shock when they bang the prices up I agree. Roy

If you have an annual contract for mooring, when that year is up, that is it and you start again for the next year. The owner of the mooring will offer you his mooring for whatever her thinks fit, and you can accept it, or reject it.

Are there any vacant moorings there? if not, he is charging below the market rate.

Does that mean, for your 30ft boat you pay a total of £520 per annum, berthing fees??

Obviously the impact of the new parliament building is filtering down to those most able to pay! mind you a tenner a week is a tad exorbitant by east coast standards, I'd offer to pay £ 2.50, that would seem to be a fairly generous contribution.

It would take me that long to find it on the map and drive there! Met some lovely Norwegians once who lived and kept their boat above the arctic circle, showed us lovely pics of sailing in the snow (May) and of the midnight sun a month later. We met them as they were waiting to cross Biscay on their way south.

Thank you for enquiring, Claymore. Much better now that I have a temporary artificial eye. The previous "keeper" kept falling out so sailing wasn't a good idea. I could pick it up if it fell on the ground but not over the side!

Looking forward to getting my permanent, hand painted, made in Blackpool NHS eye in the New Year. Won't help me to see any better to port, my nose gets in the way, but my starboard vision is fine so I will be relying on vessels approaching from port to give way - that's right isn't it?
