We have an Aqua4gen towed generator with which we are highly satisfied in terms of its electricity contribution and drag on boat speed, especially on our recent trips from Jakarta to Cocos Keeling and on to Rodrigues . However, on the last leg to Mauritius we were getting a lot of twist in the line to the extent that it starts to bunch near the spinner/propeller end - part of this is a result of sailing in 2-3 metres waves and the spinner/prop jumping out of the water. Notwithstanding this, there does seem to be too much twist which can then cause chafe on the line. Ideas to reduce twist would be most welcome. Thanks

Thee is this from the manual...
Note: If for any reason the turbine surfaces before 9 knots when using the 115mm blades or 11 knots using the 90mm
(this may be caused by your particular hull shape of the yacht creating an underwater wash effect) add one or two
25mm propeller shaft anodes to the turbine shaft close to the turbine hub, or increase the length of the towrope.

I have an Aquair with two prop/turbines one for slow speed and one with increased pitch for higher speed, less rpm for given speed and less load. We had it jumping out of waves quite often and never had a problem with the rope getting twisted.
