Prettiest production sailboat?

There are times when I look at mine and can almost find her pretty. Most of the time she's just ugly...Just purposefully ugly...But I've seen much uglier previous generation Oceanis...

There's an honest fellow. :encouragement:

The car-comparison is interesting because I daresay the vertical windscreen and bulky headlights of old cars are just as impractically wind-resistant as some of the bulky stuff on the decks of gaffers and other old-timers...

...actually I wouldn't much want a very old car, or even a new one styled like an old one...but I'd adore a new yacht which looked antique, whatever her inefficiencies.

So, I'd admit there's not much logic in the matter of preference. But I can't easily respect the modernist view which scorns old-time designs for lacking purely efficient styling...

...the 'prettyness' this thread began by focusing on, needn't relate in any way to efficiency, which is such an obsession among contemporary designers that their creations seem to have dropped all the visual appeal that made 20th century yachtsmen so proud of their boats.

(I'm abroad in a world of intermittent internet, so my input here is rare at present. :))

Nothing wrong with wind resistance ....

when the wind is coming from behind.
